So many beautiful reminders here, thank you.

I’ve been feeling so heavy and weighed down lately but I know it’s within my control to change that. So this morning I took myself to the woods and sat on a log in the sunshine. It brought me such joy and I’m endeavouring to continue to sprinkle simple moments like this through my days this month ☀️

I started joy journaling and it is true! All my joy is soothing and sweet. I could easily missed my joy moments if I wasnt slowing down to soak them in. I adore hear these voice notes!

Thank you for this! I find when I slow down and am more present, I can really be one with the joy in my life; no matter how tiny or huge and with the assistance my senses like the joy that comes from taking a walk & smelling fresh cut grass. I started joy spotting at the end of March and will definitely be jotting down my unexpected joy daily throughout April!

Thank you for this! I’m just joining in the joy spotting for the first time this month (my birthday month!). I just have to ask - what pens are in the photo that you use for the colouring??

thank you for sharing 💗🌸 j🌼y spotting ✨💛 I was clearly called to hear this …been awhile since I was on. Now I know why. It’s confirmation to my own decision to journal every evening this month. With the prompt my therapist provided….2 years ago.

I'm looking forward to so much this month, but I'm so grateful to have made it through March. Joy made its way through numerous times, and I'm glad I clocked it when I did. There were times that doubt entered the room, and I had to overcome that with the reminder that JOY will and shall triumph no matter what. ❤️🌟

I've recently started a new job, blossomed within a relationship, found a new walking trail near my new apt, and found a new community of peers. I also have the goal of updating my Substack called "Times Like These" and being more present in my creative spaces again. I'm gleaming with JOYYYY.

Happy April, everyone 😊

Joy spotting has really been a game changer for me. Thank you, Alex for this beautifully written essay. I bought a separate pocket sized planner to do my joy spotting in and I can’t wait to kick off April.

Omggggg! I love this so much because I literally wrote something along these same lines, how no matter what life throws my way — I’m still often reminded of why life is absolutely still worth living.

“you enter rooms with great joy shouts.” here is where joy does shout, an oldie but goody i’ve loved since i was younger than you are now: https://open.spotify.com/track/6rbGpy1s1TniuQXsIBaQym?si=vm6i30pNQzmR_alWwO3QUg

The unexpected joy was in my day spent helping my mother with her shower. It’s an exhausting day. Washing her hair, cutting and styling it. Giving her a pedicure. Helping her with lotion. I mixed in some essential oils. Then putting fresh linen on her bed.

Through the fatigue I remind myself, I’m blessed that she is healthy at 85 and still very present. Exhausting and present.
