“Joy doesn’t bypass our aches. It can’t erase the suffering, the heaviness, or the weariness. But it gives us something to lean on when life feels unsteady. It reminds us who we are when we fail to remember”. Reading this filled me with soo much joy!! Thanks Alex 😊
Thanks for posting this insightful, thorough, and inspiring work that accurately explains why joy is essential. Here is a two-minute video that provides a loud amen and ase to your writing. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/P1Ze8iTIXQc. And, as the ole folks usta say, "Young sister, keep on keepin' on!"
Thank you for writing this. I am heading into breast cancer surgery next week and this really resonates with me. I will be utilizing this as a reminder during my recovery ❤️🩹 .
I’m currently curled up with severe cramps, anchoring myself in deliberate joy — nourishing myself with your words and remembering that this magnificent womb carried and grew babies. Giving thanks to all the wisdom it holds, even in the ache 💕🌊
I introduced joy spotting to my daughter in a random conversation on the way to the grocery store. I honestly didn’t think she was paying attention. But then I saw her post on her IG and invited others to join her and she told her therapist about it. Win win win double joy spot for me!!! We are both practicing this and I’ve been sharing it as often as I can with as many people as I can
I choose to intentional create joy for myself each day, without feeling guilty of being selfish but being self aware that I too deserve to feel joy no matter what! (Excuse my grammar, just a dyslexic girly here lol) xx
“Joy is not the absence of adversity—it's the refusal to let adversity take you away from you.” Whew. Thank you so much for this.
Joy is my birthright 🫶🏽

Thank You. 🙏🏽
I truly look forward to re introducing joy into my life this month. My healing journey took me away a bit. I recommitted to starting again 🙏🏽
Alex your post arrived to my mind and heart in the nick of time to halt my sad spiral. I am grateful.
Joy is finding peace when life takes unexpected turns.
Joy is becoming my everything friend ❤️
😭🙌🏾 same, friend.
Beautifully written. Love the idea of cultivating deliberate joy, whether that's people, places or practices. Thank you, I needed to read this.
Thank you, love.

Ohhh, I absolutely love this.
I've used the phrase "joy is my filter" for years. I love the idea of visualizing it as an anchor. Thanks for sharing!
I love this.
Your words guide me and gently hold my hand as I walk through the journey of self discovery. Thank you, Alex for your wisdom and grace.
Thank you, love.
Thank you so much for sharing! I love your Joy pictures and captions! I said I’ll try this in June.
