I love this. The words you chose, like devotion, remind me that this is a practice. Every morning my cat & I cuddle in bed, her on my crossed legs. It is our routine, but this morning, as I held her, breathing in her softness, I was really fully there with her purrs, her peace & ease. What a gift to start each day like this. I'm challenged to stay consistent, but I love this. πββ¬πΎπ€
I picked up this practice after reading your recent post about it. I've been loving it so much and it's absolutely making me more present to the many little moments throughout the day. It's helped me to realize that gratitude doesn't have to be about trying to come up with things I'm thankful for, but it's about noticing more of the moments that make up my life. And noticing how wonderful so many of those moments are, even the small ones that would otherwise probably escape my notice if I wasn't trying to actively pay more attention.
My joy yesterday was being in community with you again. Today, it's hearing the love in your voice during this reading, and sharing in community this morning with fellow writers in βLocked π In.β Thank you as always for your gentle reminders and inspiration. You and your work mean more to me than you know.
And I'm sure I'm not alone in that feeling. β₯οΈ you
I love, love, love your writing, outlook, AND your voice! It was so nice to listen to that while I walked to get my mail. I hope you FIND joy in knowing that your post and recording found its place on my own βjoy spottedβ list today! Thank you for sharing β€οΈ
I've noticed that this has improved my mood more than when I had wrote in my gratitude journal , perhaps it has more meaning for me now. Whatever it is, I'm not complaining π
I love this new found love at of capturing these precious moments. Thank you for sharing. I am also loving the way the page looks with my joys filling up the squares and little doodles in the empty spaces. There are so many joys everyday and it is fun to settle one extra special one to fill each square the calendar. I loved the writing workshop yesterday as well! It was my third! Thank you for being you! πππππ
These weekly updates are quickly becoming my favorite. Today my joy was found in spending time with my best friend, enjoying the simple moments of our daily life. π€
Doing this has reminded me of the importance of saying yes at times in order to not miss moments of joy! Like going to NYC at 7pm on a Sunday to see a show! It was so worth it! Grateful for the friend who invited me last minute.
This is a beautiful piece. Thank you for your words, and the reminder that the present moment holds more than we ever imagined - pretty much everything we need. I love the term βjoy spottingβ and the idea of keeping a joy journal for all these continual moments of joy, especially in these incredibly difficult times in the United States. ππβ€οΈ
Need to put this into more practice β€οΈ. Have been trying to journal daily gratitudes instead of my βregularβ journaling every couple of weeks. Itβs been helpful and a habit I need to build. Iβve been having a hard time feeling present lately as stress has been weighing hard, so I want to practice βspotting the joyβ more ππ½
I am loving this practice and using colored markers to fill it each day. Thank you again for the beautiful community that gathered yesterday for Filling the Well. It was my joy yesterday β€οΈ.
Lovely! Joy came to me today in my walk and chatted with a little baby and his father spending outdoor time and an older couple holding hands on their walk!
