I love this. Recently I made a vision board with pictures of the small, simple things that bring me joy - and the act of focusing on them has already made a big difference to my daily wellbeing. Especially in tough times, holding on to joy is so important!

Thank you for this lovely reminder to seek out the small joys of life! I’ve been trying to allow good things to flow to me but I think balance is important here: We can seek it out and let it flow. Here’s to more ‘joy spotting!’

Joy can be a quiet rebellion indeed!

I tend to journal more about beauty, because I can perceive beauty easier in all its melancholic shades than that I can feel pure joy. But it amounts to the same in the end. I become more mindful and grateful. More content.

This message has come at such good timing. I literally said to my friend today that I am becoming more intentional about my joy and being grateful for the things I am able to do while being alive.

To come back to New Orleans after the terrorist attack on 1/1 and see the joy on the faces of residents and visitors, while kids play freely in the street as parades go by, has truly been a beautiful experience. We have to keep living.

Thank you ❤️

Seeking out the joys and focusing on the good has given me more room to romanticize my life. I'm enjoying it so much that I'm being more intentional on creating these moments even if its just a small part of my day. Thank you for this.

I love the idea of looking at Joy as an act of resistance. In spite of everything, I will fight for it because I am oh so deserving! I’d also recommend the book “Book of Delights” by Ross Gay a beautiful collection of essays finding delight in all the most unexpected places. We are swimming in an abundance of it and it’s only when we practice that muscle, as you said, that we can see it all around ♥️ thank you for this beautiful post!

I love this idea & I really need something like this. I’ve been so down & fearful. My niece gave me a 2025 calendar book this Christmas that will be the perfect “joy spotting journal”.😊

I love this reimagined use of the planner! My sister got me one for Christmas and I was unsure how I’d put it to good use but THIS is a great idea. Thank you!

A beautiful reminder that joy hides in the most ordinary moments if we just open our eyes.

Thank you for the reminder to look for joy even in the saddest places, it is always there. I took my high school students to see the James Baldwin exhibit at the Schomburg Center for Black Research and Culture. Our ONLY focus was black joy. Our young students had so much to say as we gathered in the rotunda above the ashes of Langston Huges. I felt JOY as they talked about what they saw and how they wanted to see more of this in their classrooms. Joy is in the laughter of our children. It exists in the hope in their eyes and on their faces. It's important that we find it and reflect it for them.
