My word of the year is self-discovery. I became a mom at the end of 2022 and my goal this year is to learn this new identity and how to balance being a mother with other parts of my identity. Part of doing this is continuous self expression, and my current form of nourishment is through writing. I started a Substack to write about navigating new motherhood and other identities, and it’s been so nourishing to my soul.

Thank you for all you do Alex 💛 you are such an inspiration!

What feels nourishing for me right now is silence. I recently took a week of vocal rest, nursing a vocal polyp, and I found so much peace in the silence, not constantly jumping to comment or react or respond. I found stillness and noticed my thoughts and which truly felt worth the energy to share. Whereas it might normally feel challenging to release things I want to say without saying them, this felt intuitive and full of care for myself.

Why did I break down and cry at question #3? Because I've done such a good job of curating a. great group of supporters. And as I unfold myself, they see me more and more. Sometimes more than I see myself. Ty for your work. Even before I cried, I sent you $5 as a token of appreciation! Thanks for prompting abundant actions from me!

My word of the year is “magic”. January word was “abundance” and I am still searching for February’s word.

My morning devotion and reflection time feels nourishing to me because it is the most peaceful time of my day with no interruptions and nothing competes with my time.

How I create a more nourishing environment begins with how I protect my time and create boundaries to people and things that steal my joy and rob my energy. Placing the right people at my table which holds limited seats.
